Introducing the members of Bluegrass Invasion

William McCormick – upright bass, bass vocals
From Bethpage, Tenn., William played in the ‘50s and ‘60s with the legendary McCormick Brothers, who recorded for Hickory Records and Metromedia Records and made guest appearances on the Grand Ole Opry and the Ozark Jubilee. Later William joined Jim and Jesse McReynolds as one of the Virginia Boys.

John Wayne Harrison – banjo
From Gallatin, Tenn., John performed for eight years with the McCormick Brothers, playing banjo during the absence of Haskel McCormick. He also performed for Bill Monroe during fan fair on the Early Bird Bluegrass concert and with Misty Morning. He formed the group Sugar Ridge Bluegrass.


Frederic “Freddie” Thomas – guitar, lead vocals
Born in West Virginia and now living in Cunningham, Tenn., Freddie has played the guitar for 30 years, having performed at an early age in Princeton, W.Va. with his uncle playing and singing bluegrass gospel music. Freddie sang lead and harmony vocals for three years with a local bluegrass group in Goldsboro, NC. Infused with bluegrass, gospel and country influences, Freddie is considered one of the best lead vocalists in the Northeast. He is also an accomplished mandolin player and bassist.

Gordon Reid – fiddle, lead and baritone vocals
Gordon claims deep Tennessee roots and a long and distinguished history of performing with some of bluegrass music’s stalwarts, including Bill Monroe, James Monroe, Jim and Jesse McReynolds, Jimmy Martin, The Adair Family, and The Misty Mountain Boys. Born in Greeneville and now making his home in White House, Tenn., Gordon began his career as a banjo player for Carl Story in 1974, playing bluegrass gospel all over the South. He performed regularly at Opryland U.S.A. and Music Village U.S.A., and played on the Grand Ole Opry. He has been actively involved in the recording industry and is an accomplished bluegrass record producer.

Garry Adams – mandolin, lead and tenor vocals
A seasoned performer, was born in Lawrenceville, Ill. and began playing music at 8 years old. He appeared on TV at age 12 years on the “Cornbelt Country Style” radio show with show host Uncle Johnny Barton. Garry and his kin, known as the Adams Family Band, played fairs and festivals alongside entertainers such as Tex Ritter, Jimmy C. Newman, Stringbean, The Stanley Brothers, Jim and Jesse, Bill Monroe, and Roy Acuff. The family band made guest appearances on the “Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree” on W.S.M. Radio. He performed for 16 years in the Country Music U.S.A. show at Opryland U.S.A. He lives in Pleasantview, Tennessee.
