Chip has decided to keep an online diary dealing with the process of recording his next album. It wil deal with songwriting, musicians, arrangements and all other little details you may be interested in.
As the CD progresses, I'm sure you'll get all of those nagging little questions answered, such as...

How is Chip going to manage all the musicians lined up to record with him? (Does he play well with others?)
What kind of arrangements can we expect?
What songs is he going to record?

WIll there be a Barbershop Quartet on the CD?
Why does it hurt when I pee?

And so on......

"Hoboken Dreams is a song that I started writing about 10 years ago while I was traveling through Jersey - hugging the East Coast. All I had really written was "Broke in Hoboken... Sittin' here smokin' "... 'cause that's the way it was. After that, I must have spaced on the song - completely forgetting it. It was while traveling back on I-75 from a show in Atlanta that it flooded back to me. I was changing lanes and the "tick tock tick tock" of the turn signal was beating out the rhythm from the song I started writing in Jersey (allegro; 153 beats - according to my metronome!). That's when the lyrics started pouring in. I kept singing them so I wouldn't forget - and have to wait another 10 years to finish the song. I pulled into the FIRST restaurant that I came to (about 22 long miles!) and scrambled the lyrics down on a menu. Waitress thought I was crazy. (She was right). I feel like a proud papa of a child that had a 10 year gestation. It is so much fun to sing this song. My neighbors are probably hating it by now. :0)"
